WHAT WE BELIEVE MATTERS
Where do our beliefs come from? Which things do we believe and which do we reject? The featured video discusses information input into our brains and what we believe. It was a question Jesus asked his disciples.
OUR BELIEFS
“When Iesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom doe men say, that I, the sonne of man, am?”
Matthew 16:13
JESUS
Jesus is God. He is unique. He is part of the Godhead. Colossians 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulnesse of the Godhead bodily.” We avoid the term, “Trinity,” as God is not described as such in the AKJB 1611. Yet, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are One God. Deuteronomy 6:4, “Heare, O Israel, the LORD our God is one LORD.”
Jesus was born of a virgin, Luke 1: 34-35 “Then said Marie vnto the Angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the Angel answered and said vnto her, The holy Ghost shall come vpon thee, and the power of the Highest shall ouershadow thee. Therefore also that holy thing which shall bee borne of thee, shall bee called the sonne of God.”
Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life. Hebrews 4:15b “…but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sinne.”
Jesus was crucified on a Roman cross, died there, was laid in a tomb and he rose from the dead bodily. Philippians 2:8 “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himselfe, and became obedient vnto death, euen the death of the Crosse.” Luke 24:39, “Beholde my hands and my feete, that it is I my selfe: handle me, and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.”
SALVATION
Jesus died for the sins of mankind, that all people who believe on him may receive eternal life in heaven. John 3:16, “For God so loued the world, that he gaue his only begotten Sonne: that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life.”
We are saved through the righteousness of Jesus Christ and not by any works we can do. Titus 3:5, “Not by workes of righteousnesse which wee haue done, but according to his mercy he saued vs, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Ghost.” Salvation is by faith and faith alone plus nothing.
SCRIPTURE
The 66 books (Old and New Testaments) of the 1611 Authorized King James Bible are perfect and correct. They are the inspired words of God, preserved for all generations, forever. They are the words of God, the testimony of Jesus Christ for the English speaking people. We base these beliefs on the 1611 Bible’s testimony of itself, and through careful examination of its internal witnesses, that at no time offer any contradiction to each other. Jesus said, “…that in the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word may be established.” Matthew 18:16. And Paul wrote, “This is the third time I am comming to you: in the mouth of two or three witnesses shal euery word be established.” (2 Corinthians 13:1). “Heauen and earth shall passe away, but my wordes shall not passe away.” (Matthew 24 :35). Psalm 12: 6-7“The wordes of the LORD are pure wordes: as siluer tried in a fornace of earth purified seuen times. Thou shalt keepe them, (O LORD,) thou shalt preserue them, from this generation for euer.” Psalm 138-2b “…for thou hast magnified thy word aboue all thy name.” 1 Corinthians 14:21, “In the Law it is written, With men of other tongues, and other lippes will I speake vnto this people…”
APOCRYPHA
In their wisdom, the 47 translators placed the Apocrypha between the Old and New Testaments that we might understand the false doctrines of Mystery Babylon from which the church was delivered during the Reformation. It is not part of the canon of scripture and was never intended as such. The Roman Catholic Church influenced its removal from the 1611 AKJB when it learned the real reason it had been included.
